04/27/2014 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Ryan is a lean catcher that will graduate in 2017. Feet are active and work in line to his target through a clean transfer/exchange with accuracy on his throws. Pop times show a range of 2.46-2.59 with times continuing to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Receiving/blocking skills show as playable tools that will play as he continues to improve/develop. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup with balance and tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, and work to and through a level swing path and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power potential is present as he shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, showing best to the pull side. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. With 2 years to further develop, Ryan has abilities with time and room to improve.
