01/24/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Knoxville, TN Ryan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic, open setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 77-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with downward break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run / sink. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Bell is an athletic (5'11"/170) R/R 2-way player who can swing the bat. Offensively, this RHH stands in the box with centered balance and a solid base. He jumps on pitches he likes, barreling the ball up and driving it on a line to all parts of the field (exit velocity = 85 mph). At 1B, he has active prep and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He tracks the ball into a soft mitt and gathers well. He has good bag awareness and adjusts his feet quickly to throws up and down the line. On the mound, Ryan attacks hitters with an effective 3-pitch mix. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and pounds the zone with strikes. Arm works freely/loose as he repeats well. FB ranges from 75-79 mph with good arm side run giving hitters a tough time to square up. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with tight spin. Changeup shows good run and compliments his FB well as he works to keep it down in the zone. He mixes his looks and changes speeds well, helping to keep hitters off-balance. Ryan is a solid all-around 2-way prospect who will find success in this his junior year.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
