10/14/2018 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Ryan is an atheltic C/OF prospect who will gradaute in 2020. Behind the plate, Ryan shows quick footwork and covers up well when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws to 2B, keeping them accurate and on-line to the bag. In the OF, Ryan shows efficient footwork and works behind the ball well. He is agile attacking the ball and fields in a low position with his hands out in front. He makes a clean exchange and creates momentum to throw, keeping his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits from a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives. Overall, Ryan is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

06/26/2018 - College PREP - New Britain (Hartford), CT Ryan is a talented C/OF prospect. Offensively, Ryan has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Ryan has a short, direct swing path and consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to use the whole field. Behind the plate, Ryan has a solid stance and plays with good body control. He presents a low, square target and receives the ball well. He has a quick, clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick release showing accurate throws down to 2B. In the outfield, Ryan takes effective routes and makes the routine plays. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square position. Ryan has a clean exchange and short arm action throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. Overall, Ryan is a versatile prospect who has potential to get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
