01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cash has a lean build on an athletic frame at 5-foot-11 and 135 pounds. He is a well rounded and naturally capable player. Offensively, he features a balanced approach with rhythm to hit from both sides of the plate. His stroke is short with some quickness, and in general he has a great foundation to build on as he gets more physical. Defensively, he instinctually closes on the ball off the bat, and shows natural catch and throw skills. He got down the line in 4.30 from the left side of the plate, and posted 6.83 in the 60.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Ryan is a smart player with solid abilities for his age. He is equally as good hitting from both sides displaying good balance, a square set-up, and an activated load. He has good bat speed and hand-eye coordination, and he flashes some pop in his bat. In the middle INF, Ryan has quick feet, soft hands, and very good body control. He makes plays his release is quick, and he throws with accuracy to his target.

07/15/2013 - College PREP - Plano, TX Ryan is an athletic SS that will graduate in 2016. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.00 60 time. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he utilizes his quick feet well in attacking ground balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / clean / sure and he shows big play potential in the MIF. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Cash is a switch hitter and is slightly better from the left side. Hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. With 3 years to further to develop, Ryan has the makings to be a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
