08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Ryan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows smooth / athletic actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls as he plays through with his body. Range will continue to increase he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and later break. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works hard, and is a great team player.

07/06/2017 - College PREP - Adrian, MI Ryan is a tall, athletic 1B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally, covering ground. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 79-83 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Ryan has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.
