12/27/2023 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Ryan is an OF prospect who will graduate in 2024. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.68 seconds. Quick feet and good agility enable Ryan to make it look easy in the OF. Works behind and through the baseball with a quick transfer. Shows a quick release and good carry with an arm velocity up to 89mph. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance. He hits into a firm frontside with an explosive bat through the zone. A short barrel path enables him to hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 90mph during his round of BP. Ryan should have opportunities to play at the next level with continued development.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament Ryan is a 2024 OF prospect from the state of California who put on a very strong performance at the All-State event both in our workout and the in-game portion of the event. During his workout Ryan continued to show strong athleticism and strength recording a personal best 89 MPH arm velo and increasing his grip strength noticeably in both hands. Running a 7.0 60 is consistent with his personal best of 6.9 and all his other athletic testing measurables continue to fall in a consistent pattern. His workout was very impressive, earning 52 grades for both his hit tool and his raw power with a max exit velo of 90 MPH in line with his personal best of 92 mph. Also, defensively he earned solid grades with a 55-arm grade and 52 defensive grades making him a very good player across the board for college programs. In the game his bat performed very well picking up 2 hits with 2 walks and producing 2 more out with hard contact in game. His approach is noticeably advanced for his age and there is a strong feel for the barrel of the bat and recognition of the strike zone to make him a very good offensive prospect for college programs. He will be a name for college coaches to pay strong attention to.

12/27/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Ryan is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.97 seconds. In the OF, he showed ability to cover ground in all directions and make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Made accurate/on-line throws into infield from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 87mph. On the mound, he works with good tempo and has a controlled landing. Picks up target early and gets a good glove tuck on his frontside. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 74-75mph with some movement, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a developing changeup with some movement that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he starts with an upright and athletic stance. Gets his hands activated and is balanced at contact. Showed ability to get on-plane early with good extension through the baseball. A short/direct barrel path enables him hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. With another year of growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

10/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Ryan continues show as a prospect in his baseball abilities. He did show for the first time on the mound at the event. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active and works to get behind ball to play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are with carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting abilities are outstanding with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Ryan is a 2024 prospect with an offensive upside to his game and position versatility, but found a home in the OF. With a balanced swing from the RH side which has bat speed and projects to play with doubles power to the middle of the diamond and home run power to the pull side. Which he combines with an advanced approach (offensive player of the year for his HS league as a Soph.) with feel for the barrel and projection he has the potential to be a high impact offensive player. He has versatility with being able to play all 3 OF positions while he profiles best to stay on a corner there is athleticism and instincts that if his speed continues to trend upwards could handle CF. While he additionally has grown up as a catcher who plays there part time still in HS and travel ball. Ryan is a intriguing prospect in the 2024 class with his bat as a carrying tool and athleticism to play multiple positions at the college level.

11/14/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Ryan is an athletic RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 68-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with downward break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 3 years to further develop, Ryan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
