10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Ryan improved arm velocity to 56 MPH and showed well at both positions during his last workout with The Factory. In the OF, Ryan fields aggressively and works behind the ball well. He plays through ground balls and has a long arm action to his cut off man. At 2B, Ryan has active feet and a presentable glove. He picks out the right hops, fields squarely, and throws with accuracy and consistency to his target. At the plate, Ryan has an athletic stance, a still head, and he makes consistent contact. He hits with some strength to the pull side and taps into his lower body. Work on the following can help skills improve.

12/28/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Ryan is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Ryan has active feet, he fields in a square position, and he makes the routine plays. He squares up well to the ball, has a clean exchange, and throws with a long arm action to his target. In the OF, Ryan has active feet, he presents his glove well, and shows accuracy to his cut off man. At the plate, Ryan has a tall set-up, a proper load, and good balance. He has a simple stroke, he can spray to all fields, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Ryan can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
