11/06/2011 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Ryan is a young, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays 3rd base. On the mound, Ryan has has a short / free arm action, a repeatable delivery, and he keeps his shoulders level. He keeps his front side closed, he mixes his pitches well, and competes in the zone with all of them. A longer arm action and better direction toward home should help mound effectiveness improve. At 3rd base, Ryan has firm hands, playable feet, and decent range. He moves well to the glove side, his exchange is quick and clean. Ryan can throw from multiple arm angles and he throws with average strength and accuracy to his target. Defensive abilities can improve with a wider base, fielding further out in front, and by lengthening his arm action. Offensively, Ryan has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and good balance. He is short to the ball, he makes consistent contact, and he can spray to all fields. Ryan swings in good rhythm, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Added bat speed and not spinning off the all could help spike offensive numbers.
