06/13/2012 - 2012 Team One Florida Showcase
Ryan continues to show a big upside on the mound. Delivery is sound / repeatable through a 3/4 arm slot. He shows plus arm speed through a loose / easy arm action. Fastball showed a range of 87-89 mph with solid arm side run / sink. Breaking ball is a quality pitch that will get outs at the next level. The pitch displays 11/5 shape with late breaking action. Command / control are a plus as he attacks hitters throwing strikes with all his pitches. As he continues to develop, Hendrix should be a 2013 draft type arm.
06/06/2012 - Under Armour Southeast Regional Tournament
Hendrix continues to show as a RHP/SS that has a tremendous upside on the mound where he projects best. Fastball showed a range of 85-88 mph with plus movement. Off speed pitches show potential as being quality out pitches at the next level. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp breaking action. He maintains arm speed on his change with plus arm side run. At SS, feet are active but needs to attack ground balls with his body. At the plate, Ryan shows an athletic setup. Swing path is level as he works to keep hands inside the ball.
03/25/2012 - National Tryout - Austin, TX
Ryan showed several improvements on the mound during his latest workout in Round Rock. His FB now touches 89 mph showing late action and slight downward movement. He explodes off of the mound, driving his lower 1/2, helping to increase his velocity. His CB is his best off-speed pitch, showing 11/5 shape with a very sharp break. He remained athletic throughout his delivery and works both sides of the plate well. Offensively, he shows an athletic setup and good separation. He has fast bat speed and gap-to-gap power. Hendrix will get looks on the mound for the next level.
02/05/2012 - College PREP - Houston, TX
Ryan is a tall, thin RHP who will graduate in 2013. On the hill, Ryan has a long, 3/4 arm action, he works to his balance point well, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has proper separation, level shoulders, and he has good direction toward home. Ryan has a repeatable delivery, good mechanics, and he finishes in an athletic / complete position. Mound effectiveness can improve if Ryan can stay back long and sharpen his breaking pitches. Ryan did not hit at the workout.
