01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament As a left handed hitting 2B that runs well, Ryan continues to project well at the next level. At the dish, he was aggressive to attack balls in the zone and made consistent contact with a quiet head. He had a line-drive path and was patient in the box, drawing three walks in 7 plate appearances. Defensively, he was smooth to make plays with a soft glove and had a clean exchange to throw. He worked well laterally and played through balls to throw with momentum to his targets. Overall - Ryan is the prototypical MIF lead-off type guy that hits from the left side and runs well above average.

06/29/2016 - Under Armour Firecracker Classic 18U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Ryan continues to show improvements in his baseball tools with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a tremendous runner at 6.65. At 2B, he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are quick as he moves well laterally, displaying range. He plays through balls and presents his glove well out front. Hands/feet work well together and he shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds/turn of the double play. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with 3 BB. Ryan is a very coachable player with strong aptitude and mental makeup.

02/07/2016 - College PREP - Tomball (Houston), TX Ryan is a LHH MIF who has a ton of speed (6.73). With the bat, this lead-off type hitter shows an athletic/balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. Swing is level/repeatable as he creates consistent/hard contact. He gets out of the box and down the 1B line with speed - putting pressure on the defense. Defensively, he shows active footwork moving well into a square fielding position. He works lightly on the balls of his feet and covers ground laterally. He picks out the hops, funnels smoothly and has a clean exchange to throw. Kasper is a skilled athlete whose tools will translate well into the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
