10/11/2017 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Ryan is a tall, lanky 1B/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.35. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an athletic / open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 3 for 5 with a 2B and 4 BB as he displays a strong recognition of the strike zone and patient approach. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. He moves well laterally, showing plus range on the corner. In the OF, actions are smooth, clean, and quick. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works behind the baseball but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Ryan has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.
