Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Ryan is an athletic and talented 2022 3B/RHP prospect. At 3B, Ryan has active pre pitch movement and presents a low early glove. He works from the ground up and exchanges the ball in front of his body. At the plate, Ryan loads his hands into the drive position and gets his front foot down on time. He attacks the inside part of the ball and uses his backside. On the bump, Ryan gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and rotates toward his target. He has the ability to throw all three pitches for a strike and commands the bottom half of the zone. Ryan is a hard worker and will continue to improve with experience.

07/18/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Highland Park (DFW), TX Ryan is a big, athletic 3B/RHP. Defensively at 3B, he works into a low/athletic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate, on line throws to his target. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He separates on time, delivers from a 3/4 arm slot and works in line towards home plate. With the stick, Ryan shows an athletic setup with fluid rhythm to load. He whips his barrel fast through the zone as he drives pitches with strong/hard contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quicker footwork
2. Lateral range
3. Be more aggressive to GB
Pitching
1. Stronger frontside
2. Loosen arm action
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Level out swing path
2. More lower 1/2 drive
3. Extend more through contact

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
