09/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pearland, TX Ryan is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. In the field, he shows active feet and good 1st steps. He fields from a low/square fielding position, with hands out front, and ability to pick out hops. Accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a clean transfer, and an arm velocity up 83mph across diamond. On the mound, he keeps eyes on target and showed ability to repeat his delivery. Has a good arm angle coming forward with movement to his arm side. Attacks hitters with a FB that sits 77-78 with arm side run, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Takes an aggressive swing, with a good bat angle at contact, and has natural strength at contact. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph during his round of BP. With 2 more years of growth and development, this 2-way prospect should have a bright future on the baseball field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Ryan is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build, with some strength present, and room/time to fill out. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher was unable to pitch in game due to a sore/tender arm. At SS, Ryan showed efficient feet and good prep step. Low/athletic fielding position who fields out front. Loose/quick arm action with ability to throw from multiple arm slots. Good accuracy, with a quick release, and throws recorded up to 81mph across diamond. Right-handed hitter with a square and athletic stance. Showed good rhythm to swing, with a simple load and a short stride into contact. Hits into a firm front side with good extension through contact. Reached base 5 times, with 2 RBI's, and had a bat exit velocity of 75mph during live game action. With continued growth and development, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/28/2020 - Winter Pro Training Experience - TX (HS) Ryan continues to show improvements in his game putting on one of his best performances to date with the Factory. At shortstop, Ryan posted an impressive 84 mph raw velocity on his throws across the Dimond as well as showing scouts he came prepared with a short/quick arm that displayed some carry as he released the ball. At the plate, Ryan posted a .500 (3-6) day displaying some of his gap-to-gap power with a double. This 2023 grad showed serious confidence at the plate with a relaxed/loose set up and line-drive intentions while at the plate. Not only did Ryan impress us in the field, he posted an 80mph velocity on his fastball and showed command and sharpness with his secondary pitches. A talented (2023) prospect, Ryan has a very bright future ahead of him in the game.

02/16/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Missouri City (Houston), TX Ryan is an athletic 2-way player at SS/RHP that graduates in 2023. At SS, Ryan shows active footwork as he works to the ball getting a +1st step on the ball off the bat. He presents a confident glove as he fields making a clean transfer. He gets rid of the ball with a short arm action making accurate and online throws. Working on his DP turns will allow him to be a more consistent fielder. At the plate, Ryan sets up in a square stance getting a short stride as he works to get his lower half through. He gets the barrel direct to the ball showing the ability to work the ball to all fields. On the mound, Ryan shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. The FB shows some AS run, the CB has 10-4 action, and the CH shows sink. Pitching, he gathers over the rubber well as he works down the mound. Ryan repeats his delivery well filling up the zone. Working on off-speed consistency will allow him to be a more well rounded pitcher. Ryan is young and will continue to develop and we look forward to seeing his progress.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Ryan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/27/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Houston, TX Ryan is an athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Ryan has a quick/clean arm circle, good balance, and he gets solid extension on his pitches. He has a controlled landing toward home plate, he competes in the zone, and works down. In the INF, Ryan has active feet, a quick 1st step, and he moves with good agility to the ball. He fields low and athletically, makes plays consistently, and has an accurate arm with carry across the diamond. Offensively, this RHH stands in with a square set-up, good balance, and he flashes some bat speed. He can spray the ball to all fields and he uses the middle of the field well. Ryan can continue to improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
