07/14/2014 - College PREP - Carrollton (DFW), TX Ryan is an athletic 2-way player (SS/RHP) who has a projectable frame (6'0"/175). Defensively, he actively works into an athletic fielding position and has clean actions. He shows plus range to his glove side and works to get his shoulders in line. At the plate, this RHH shows a smooth/controlled load. He lets the ball travel into the zone and squares it up. On the bump, he has a 3-pitch mix coming from a free/fluid arm-action. He has smooth mechanics and drives of the rubber, downhill toward the dish. He works his FB to both sides of the plate, throwing strikes (77 mph). A skilled player - Ryan has the tools that will produce success.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
