04/17/2016 - College PREP - Kentfield (San Francisco), CA Ryan continues to show the makings of a special type player at the next level. He has improved his baseball abilities since the last time that we saw him. At 3B, defensive abilities are now outstanding, displaying smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and moves well laterally. Glove action is clean and he shows good body control. Continuing to increase foot quickness will aid in improving range. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on throws. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved as well through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Swing path is level as he shows good barrel accuracy with gap to gap pop. He is strong with strength in his swing with baseball exploding off bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball is a solid pitch, displaying 11/5 shape with tight spin and late breaking action, showing as a quality pitch. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Ryan will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.
