11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Ryan is a talented 1B/LHP prospect who has an athletic, projectable build. In the field, Ryan plays with quick, fluid footwork moving well in each direction laterally. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position. He receives the ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange. Ryan has a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are consistently accurate with good strength across the diamond. Offensively, Ryan has an athletic setup with a firm front side. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and square, on-time stride. Ryan has good rhythm with an on-plane swing path. He is a line drive type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. On the mound, Ryan has balanced, on-time mechanics throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a clean arm action and extends through his release. Ryan stays square to home plate with a controlled landing. He keeps his eyes on his target and fills up the strike zone. Overall, Ryan has skill on both sides of the ball and can take his game to the next level.

09/09/2018 - Interactive Video Program - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Ryan is a thin, 2-way player who plays 1B and LHP. Defensively, Ryan has active footwork to the ball, agile movements, and he fields the ball athletically. He moves well around the bag, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Ryan has a quick arm action, he separates on time, and he lands with good direction toward his target. At the plate, Ryan has a square set-up, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He has good balance, works the middle of the field, and he hits line drives. Ryan can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
