12/17/2017 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Ryan is a young, thin, 2-way player with good skills. Behind the plate, Ryan has fluid/active feet, he sits-in low and athletically, and his hands are soft. He receives the ball well, has a clean exchange, and throws with a short/quick arm to 2nd base. If Ryan can gain more ground and add arm strength, solid catching skills can get better. On the mound, Ryan stands over the rubber well, he has a loose/free arm action, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has a simple delivery, a sharp CB, and finishes out over his front knee. Mound effectiveness can improve with more lower body, keeping his eyes on target, and more glove side lead. Offensively, Ryan has a square/athletic set-up, a short/square stride, and he loads properly. He has good balance, swings in good rhythm, and makes solid contact. Letting the ball travel deeper and added physical strength will help hitting get better.
