01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ryan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond during the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times showed in the 2.03 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Offensively, he continues to shine through a tall setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage through a solid line drive approach.

09/08/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Ryan is an athletic C/1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Ryan shows efficient footwork and centers the ball when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. At 1B, Ryan shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He make a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half, driving the ball to his pull side. Overall, Ryan is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

05/19/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Redlands, CA Ryan is a tall C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Ryan moves quickly and covers up well when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with a firm glove. He makes a quick exchange and keeps his throws on-line to the 2B bag. Ryan can improve defensively by smoothening his release. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and maintains center balance. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and good extension, leading to solid contact and gap to gap pop. Driving his lower half more can help Ryan improve as a hitter. Overall, Ryan is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

03/17/2019 - College PREP - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Ryan is an athletic C prospect who will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate, Ryan shows active footwork and is agile moving to block. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher, receiving with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws to 2B, keeping them accurate with carry through the bag. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to line drives and good power production. Overall, Ryan is a talented prospect who will be one to follow throughout his junior season.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
