08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Panyard continues to show steady play in his offensive and defensive abilities. He utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through well with momentum to his target. He reads balls well off the bat and takes proper first step with defensive grade improving as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly toe the pull side. For hitting grade to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to load and use his lower half more. He is patient and displays a solid eye at the plate as he drew 5 BB at the event. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and plays hard.
