05/01/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Little Elm, TX Ryan is an OF/1B who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to fill throughout. In the OF, he creates good fielding angles, with efficient footwork, and showed ability to cover ground in all directions. He works through the ball well with a clean transfer off his left foot. Has a long arm stroke in back as he works into a high 3/4 release point coming forward. Creates good momentum towards target, with good carry on his throws into the infield, and an arm velocity up to 86mph. In the infield, he works to center the ball and showed ability to make routine plays. Creates good fielding angles and works behind the baseball with his eyes behind glove. Fields from an athletic/square fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and fields out front with soft hands. He showed good bag awareness. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. He hits into a firm front side, with the ability to keep barrel in the zone a long time, and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. A short barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.

01/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plano (DFW), TX Ryan is a 1B prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame strong build with strength present and plenty of room to add more strength throughout. At 1B, he showed ability to close distance on the ball, with active/efficient feet, and makes routine plays. He fields from a low fielding position, with soft hands out front, and has a clean/high exchange. Has a short arm stroke in back working into a high 3/4 release point and squares to his target. Made on-line throws consistently to second base with an arm velocity up to 86mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. A square glide step, with a small hand load, and is centered at contact. A direct barrel path with a fast bat through the hitting zone. Hit line drives consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee Ryan making huge strides on the baseball diamond.

07/04/2021 - Baseball Factory Firecracker Classic 18U Ryan is a 2023 corner infielder who continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range as indicated by his foot speed of a 7.19 60 time. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (83 mph velocity) on his throws. Ryan has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a high level. We look forward to seeing how he continues to progress in the years to come.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Ryan is a CIF prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a square setup. He drives through well with his lower half and takes a direct swing, producing consistent contact and gap to gap power. In the field, Ryan gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Overall, Ryan is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

10/11/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Ryan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, power potential is now well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth/clean actions. Feet are active and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness.

09/23/2020 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Ryan is a coachable 3B/1B prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Ryan shows efficient footwork and displays + lateral range making the tough plays to his right and left look easy. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Long tossing can help Ryan continue to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with his hands held high. He gets into a simple load and rotates his core well, producing solid gap-to-gap pop. He has good zone awareness with patience waiting for a pitch he likes. He competes and proved to be a tough out (2 HBP's, 2 BB's, a single and a double). Overall, Ryan is a solid prospect who has upside on the diamond.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ryan continued to display his offensive prowess at the UA Pre-season Rookie All America Event. At the plate, he showcased his ability to drive the baseball consistently and strung together great ABs, reaching base safely in all 5 plate appearances (1B, 4BBs). He has plus power to the gaps and very good bat speed bringing value to his place at the hot corner. This 3B prospect has a good feel for timing, fielding the ball out in front and is effective with his footwork and transition to throw. He is very accurate and gets rid of the ball well to make all the plays hit his way. Look for big things ahead for Ryan.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Ryan is a young and athletic 3B that will graduate in 2023. At 3B, Ryan works hard to get to the ball as he takes good angles to the ball. Working on getting his hands further out in front of his body will allow him to make quicker transfers to get rid of the ball and be a more efficient infielder. His exchanges are clean as he works to throw delivering the ball with accuracy around the infield. At the plate, he sets up in a square and athletic stance with loose and comfortable hands. Ryan shows fluid timing as he works to get the lower half through and get the barrel on plane. He shows the most pop to the pull side. Ryan shows solid foundations as a young 3B and will continue to grow.

10/16/2019 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Ryan is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Ryan starts in an athletic position and moves well to the ball. He fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Getting rid of the ball quicker can help Ryan improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. Ryan can improve as a hitter by working on his strike zone awareness. On the mound, Ryan gathers with a relaxed knee lift and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Ryan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 67mph. Changeup sits at 58mph with arm side run. Extending through his release more can help Ryan improve as a pitcher. Overall, Ryan is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/16/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Highland Park (DFW), TX Ryan is a strong, athletic, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Ryan has active/efficient footwork, soft/presentable hands, and he fields in a square position. He has good pre-pitch actions, a clean exchange, and he throws with carry and accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Ryan has good balance over the rubber, he separates his hands on time, and his arm circle is clean. He lands with good direction toward home and finishes in a complete position. At the plate, Ryan has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He has a direct swing path, makes hard contact, and he uses his lower body. Solid overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
