01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ryan is a well-rounded player who continues to improve all over the field. He shows off his strength at the dish with big time pop and the ability to make consistent, hard contact as he maintains a strong bat angle through the zone. Defensively, he can man either position on the left side with easy actions and fluid footwork. His hands are quick and clean to make all the plays and get rid of the ball quickly with a strong, accurate arm. Ryan's high level skills all over the field make him a player who should continue to be successful on the diamond.

11/04/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Ryan continues to improve each time we see him, and this was evidenced by some measurables he showed at the BF UA Futures Texas event. He ran a 6.94 in the 60, showed 90 mph raw arm strength and 89 mph exit velocity - all the best we have seen from him. Ryan showed his versatility playing in both the infield and outfield in this event, and though he profiles best as a left-side infielder at the next level he proved that he can play nearly anywhere on the field. His hands are sure and his instincts work wherever he is playing. While his swing has some length, he has quick hands and delivers the barrel well making line drive contact. He went 1-3 with a walk in game play. We look forward to seeing more of Ryan in the future.

10/18/2017 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Ryan is a coachable SS/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. In the field is where Ryan improved the most since we last saw him. He shows a solid approach and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum on his throws which allows them to remain on-line and carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets good extension through the zone with fast bat speed which leads to hard line drives. During the event, Ryan collected four hits in eleven at bats including one 2B. Overall, Ryan is a talented prospect who has the skills that will translate well to the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
