03/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Ryan is a young, 2-way player who plays 1B and LHP. Defensively, Ryan has playable hands and feet and he takes good angles to the ball. He fields in a square position, has a clean exchange, and a short arm to his target. On the hill, Ryan has good balance, a solid stride toward home, and he uses his lower body well. He has a controlled landing toward home and competes in the zone. Offensively, Ryan has a square set-up, he loads well, and he gets his lower body through. Ryan will need to work on the following in order to improve skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
