08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Ryder continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At SS, he continues to shine as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with zip (85 mph velocity) across the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
