01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Ryder is a 2022 OF/RHP who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All America Tournament. In the OF, starts in an athletic position, with active feet, and works behind/through the baseball. Good 1st step reads enable him to take aggressive routes to the baseball and flip his hips and run down balls in all directions. Fields with hands out front and has a loose arm action. Throws are consistently on-line, with good carry into the infield, and an arm velocity up to 90mph. A right-handed pitcher, he starts with a small rocker step and has good poise on the mound. He gathers over the rubber and keeps his shoulder in-line to target. Attacks hitters with a FB that sat 80-83mph with some arm side movement, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a splitter with downward action that he throws with FB arm speed. During the games, he worked 3 innings and struck out 4 batters and didn't allow a hit. At the plate, he begins with an upright and open stance. Activates his hands, with good hip rotation, and showed late bat whip. Hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. In live game action, he reached base multiple times and proved to be a tough out. With another year of development, we foresee Ryder making huge strides on the baseball field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Ryder is an athletic OF/RHP who is a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (92 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (85 mph exit velocity) as he stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 83-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains split finger with slight sink. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Ryder has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Ryder is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who showed well during the Opening Day Classic. In the field, Ryder shows smooth footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields with a relaxed glove. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with loose hands. He is fluid to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a smooth/level swing and produces strong line drives to all fields. On the mound, Ryder gathers over the rubber and works inline toward the plate. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits at 64mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Ryder is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
