Official Scouting Report

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Ryder is a strong/athletic (5'11"/175) prospect who pitched and hit at the event. On the mound, he toes the rubber with a purpose looking to pound the zone and attack hitters. He works mainly from the stretch with quick tempo, not letting hitters get a chance to get settled in. FB jumps out of his hand, cracking the mitt 83-86 mph. He commands it well and can hit his spots. Curveball shows 10/4 shape with good action and tight spin. Changeup shows to be his best off-speed pitch as it has hard arm-side run, getting in on the RHH's and showing to be a go-to 'K' pitch. He mixes his pitches and changes speeds well, getting a ton of swings and misses at the event. As a hitter, this lefty stands in well with smooth rhythm to load working his hands back into a strong launch position. He fires the barrel and engages his lower 1/2, creating good torque and resulting in hard contact off of the barrel (87 mph). Ryder has a ton of upside and has the versatility to make an impact in a variety of ways on the diamond.

05/30/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lawrenceville (Atlanta), GA Ryden is an athletic LHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. A leadoff type, hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step (6.95 60 time) and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (89 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are excellent as he shows big play potential. Ryden has a ton of upside and possesses the skill-set that will play at a very high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
