07/12/2021 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Ryker continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Fastball showed a range of 80-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late/sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Off speed stuff shows as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.23 runner. At SS, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. The future is bright for Ryker and we look forward to seeing how it continues to progress in the years to come.

01/18/2021 - All-In Membership - Omaha, NE Ryker is an athletic RHP/SS prospect who continues showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Ryker gathers over the rubber and works with a quick arm. He extends through his release and stays inline toward the plate, finishing square to his target. Ryker shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 86mph. Breaking ball sits from 74-76mph with sharp 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 80-81mph. In the field, Ryker makes the routine plays and has a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance with center balance. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He stays direct through the ball with plus bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap power. Overall, Ryker is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Ryker continues to shine on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At 2B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. He stands over the rubber well, is around the plate with all of his pitches. Fastball showed a range of 76-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/27/2019 - College PREP - Joplin, MO Ryker is an athletic and talented 2022 2B prospect. At 2B, Ryker starts in an athletic fielding position, has good footwork to the ball, and works behind the ball. He plays through his backhand and keeps his throws online. At the plate, Ryker starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has good separation, gets to balance, and gets his backside through. He attacks the inside part of the ball and is a line drive hitter. Ryker will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
