Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

04/10/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Sanford (Orlando), FL Rylan is a RHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2028. On the mound, Rylan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Rylan operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 50mph. Changeup sits from 44-45mph. Finishing with his chest over his front knee can help Rylan improve his pitch command. In the field, Rylan makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate/on-line to his target. Rylan can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He works through a level swing with good extension, producing solid contact. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Rylan barrel up more baseballs. With six more years to develop, Rylan has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
