12/27/2011 - Vero Beach Christmas Camp and Tournament Rylan is a 2016 graduate who plays OF and 3B. In the outfield he showed sure/clean hands, active footwork, an athletic fielding position (fields too deep) and he has good agility. In the infield Rylan carries over many of the same attributes/problems. He showed firm hands, active feet and a plus FH. Both in the outfield and infield he needs to smooth out his footwork and field the ball out in front more. Rylan is an aggressive/assertive fielder who is always hustling and communicating. At the plate he has an athletic setup, short stride, centered balance and he makes consistent contact to all fields with a plane swing path. He needs to develop a smooth load, use his lower half more, his timing is too late (start earlier), and his bat tends to drag through the zone. Rylan is a very coachable kid who plays hard and he has all the natural ability to be a very good player. If Rylan works on smoothing out his footwork/fielding position and makes the adjustments at the plate he will find a lot of success.
