Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

10/26/2023 - Baseball Factory Best of The West - Upperclass Ryler is a 2025 SS/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Best of the West Tournament. At SS he shows smooth footwork as he works to center the baseball. Fields from an athletic fielding position with sure hands out front. Made accurate throws to first base from a 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 88mph. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch. He has a projectable frame and confident demeanor. He works with good tempo and has a controlled landing. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 84mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a developing changeup. In 3 innings of work, he struck out 2 batters and only allowed 1 earned run. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance with comfortable hands. He separates his hands and takes an aggressive hack. Rotates the lower half well and shows ability to control the barrel. In live game action he made hard contact consistently and had 2 RBI's. Ryler has the physical tools to play at the next level.

08/20/2023 - National Showcase - Billings, MT Ryler is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame athletic build with strength present. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectable frame. He works with good direction down the mound and gets chest to glove. Has a clean arm stroke with extension out front. Challenges hitters with his FB that sat 80-82mph with good movement and plus command. He mixes in an 11/5 shaped slider that has good depth, and a changeup with good sinking action in the zone that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen session. In the infield, has a good prep step, with quick feet, and he shows good lateral range. He fields from an athletic fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and has a quick exchange. He made accurate throws to first base from a 3/4 arm slot, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 85mph. At the plate he hits from an upright and open stance. Shows explosive bat speed through the hitting zone. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 87mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Ryler having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
