06/16/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Ryley continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 4 for 8. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Transfer is smooth with strong throws (81 mph velocity) through his cut off. Mental makeup is a plus as he a solid team player and plays with a lot of energy.

05/12/2019 - College PREP - Lakewood (Denver), CO Ryley is an athletic OF prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Ryley shows active footwork and covers ground well. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, getting good carry through his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Ryley improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and gets into his load well. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives to his pull side. Ryley can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Ryley is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
