07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Ryson is a thin and projectable 2022 2-way prospect that is willing to learn and made several adjustments throughout the week at pirate city. At 2B, Ryson is on time with his prep step, he presents a low early glove, and works from the ground up. He has a quick first step to the ball and has range on both sides of the ball. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Ryson starts in an athletic stance, creates back side rotation, and keeps the barrel on plane with the ball. He's selective at the plate, grinds out AB's and drive the ball to all fields. He needs to continue to be aggressive in fastball counts and create separation in his load. On the bump, Ryson gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has good tempo in his delivery. He cuts his fastball and throws his curveball for strikes. He needs to continue to improve the change up and not slow his arm down when throwing it. Ryson will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
