05/05/2019 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA Sadler worked out behind the plate in New Orleans and showed nice offensive and defensive upgrades. At the plate, Sadler is a strong hitter with a square set-up, he loads well, and flashes fast bat speed. He has a direct barrel to the ball, creates hard contact to the pull side, and he uses his lower body. Improved rhythm and barrel accuracy will hep hitting continue to get better. Behind the plate, Sadler improved defensive grades to 45's and lowered pop times to 2.2 seconds. He has quick feet, athletic actions, and good agility. He presents his glove well, takes good angles to block, and throws with accuracy and momentum to 2nd base. If Sadler can stay low, and gain more ground when throwing, catching skills can continue to improve.

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Lake Charles, LA Sadler showed as a catcher at the event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup with balance. Hands are loose and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Behind the plate, feet work in line to his target through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.26 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process but will benefit by working to get his body down sooner.

06/19/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Katy (Houston), TX Sadler is a SS/RHP with an athletic build. Defensively at SS, feet are active as he takes solid GS angles to the baseball. He tracks GB's well into his mitt and has a smooth DP exchange. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber and has a 3-pitch arsenal. He separates on time and works in line towards home plate as he delivers from a 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. With the bat, Sadler shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He rips his lower 1/2 through, takes aggressive hacks through the zone and drives pitches with hard, solid contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Work from ground up
2. Develop soft hands
3. Quicker exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Be a strike thrower
2. Develop SL
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Level out swing path
2. Drive pitch back up through middle
3. Extend more through contact

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
