01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Sam is an athletic (6'0"/180) OF prospect who has a strong arm, speed and can swing it with power. Offensively, this RHH steps into the box and is looking to swing it. He jumps on pitches he likes, firing the barrel to and through the zone with quick hands and engaging his lower 1/2 well. He barrels the ball up creating consistent/hard contact (exit velo = 90 mph). In the OF, he has active prep and takes a quick first step with good routes/angles to track down fly-balls. He works behind and through the ball, gaining ground toward his target. Throws show strength/accuracy/carry into his target. Delvalle is a talented OF who has the tools that will easily translate into the next level.

08/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Franklin (Milwaukee), WI Sam is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Sam shows fluid footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields ground balls with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and maintains center balance. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Sam is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/20/2020 - All-In Membership - Rosemont (Chicago), IL Sam is an athletic/solid (6'0"/180) OF who can make things happen. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with good routes/angles to work into position behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hands, has a clean transfer and fires strong/accurate throws into his target (88 mph). At the plate, this RHH displays an athletic/open stance with fluid rhythm to load. Quick hands whip the barrel on a direct path as he connects and drives the ball with pop to the gaps. Sam has the tools that will translate well into the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
