08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Sam is an athletic and talented 2021 2-way prospect that plays the game hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At SS, Sam is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and anticipates the ball off the bat. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Sam starts in a crouched stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced thru contact. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation, and get his front foot down on time. Keeping a quiet head and hunting the fastball will allow him to have a better approach. Sam will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
