11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC Sam is a young and talented SS/2B in the 2027 class. In the field, he shows an athletic feel and takes good angles to the baseball. He is on time to field and does an excellent job of reading his hops. He plays through the baseball and his hands are relaxed. The ball sticks to his pocket and can redirect with clean actions. His release is in synch with his body and arm plays at 67 velo. At the plate, he shows a simple and repeatable swing. Creates a path to make consistent contact and shows the ability to hit the baseball to the gaps. Working to get his front foot down on time will assist with his ability to drive the baseball. Overall, Sam has a good feel for the game and scouts are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Indianapolis, IN Sam is a 2B prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with some strength present and plenty of time to add. At 2B, he starts with a good prep step and creates good fielding angles. Works around baseball, with good direction towards target, and fields from a low/square fielding position. Has a short arm stroke as made on-line throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 57mph. A right-handed hitter who hits from a tall and open stance. Starts with a square glide step, with quiet head, and is centered at contact. He hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 62mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Sam making huge strides on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
