06/09/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Sam is an athletic LHP who is a prospect on the mound. Delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 85-88 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Sam has a big upside on the mound, getting looks from pro scouts with his abilities on the bump.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
