09/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Samuel is an athletic RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, Samuel gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing square to his target. Samuel operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Changeup sits from 67-69mph. Driving his lower half more can help Samuel increase his pitch velocity. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball from gap to gap with authority. Samuel can create more consistent contact by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Samuel is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
