Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

11/07/2008 - Dodgertown Select Training - 2008 Creedy moved his top end fastball up once again, this time from 73 to 74. He threw a lot of strikes, did a good job of pounding the zone. His delivery was balanced and his arm worked fairly well. Needs to work to finish his pitches better, and needs to develop his secondary pitches as well. At the plate, he showed some strength and potential to drive the ball. Needs to improve the looseness and extension in his swing, and can work to maintain more athletic positions through his swing as well - will help him improve barrel accuracy. Defensively, he fielded his position well on the mound. Footwork around the bag at first base can improve, along with overall quickness and agility. Overall, a coachable young player that has shown progress in his skills and abilities.

07/10/2008 - Cape Cod Training 2008 - Week 1 Creedy raised his top end fastball velocity two mph, up from 71 to 73. He also showed long, loose arm action and good balance in his delivery. He did a good job of keeping the ball down in the zone and worked aggressively in the zone as well. Can work to keep his front side closed better, and on working more down the mound - will help him use his body and finish better, must improve extension out front. He also lowered his 60-yard dash time, down from 8.90 to 8.60. At the plate, he showed best when he hit from a wider base. Allowed him to hit with better balance and to show better barrel accuracy. Must improve hip rotation and bat path. Defensively, he needs to improve his quickness and agility and his hands need to get more out front. Overall, a young player that is still developing and learning to use his tools.

04/27/2008 - College PREP - Farmingdale, NY Samuel showed some signs of being able to locate on the mound. He needs to improve overall athleticism. He does a good job of getting to a balance point, and he keeps his eyes still, but he lacks velocity and movement right now. Better core strength is going to help him in every area of his game. Young RHP with time to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
