11/17/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Germantown (Memphis), TN Samuel is a RHP/2B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Samuel keeps his eyes on target and works inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 55mph. Breaking ball sits from 43-45mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 45-47mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Samuel shows active footwork and fields in a square position. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with center balance. He works to barrel up the baseball and produces solid line drives. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
