06/05/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Samuel is an athletic RHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range (6.63 60 time). He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (93 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are at a pro level as he shows big play potential. Samuel has tremendous upside with the makings of a draft pick in 2020.

09/15/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Samuel offers a chance for an impact bat at a premium defensive position. He carries himself on the field with a quiet confidence and has excellent natural energy. As a defender, his feet are active and work very well to and through the ball. The ball sticks in his glove, he has a quick exchange and he has life to his throws across the diamond. Add in that Samuel is natural around the bag on feeds and turns and you have a complete defender. Offensively, Samuel starts with his hands in a good position and has a quiet trigger to get into position to launch. He has a pretty, fluid RH stroke with quick hands that deliver the barrel on time. He hits the ball with authority to all fields with more power to the pull side. Overall, this is an exciting prospect with an excellent combination of tools and playability.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
