09/17/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Only a 2019 grad, Santiago plays beyond his years. As a catcher he has very good hands, sits well behind the plate and is a quality receiver. He's quiet back there and looks to be the kind of guy that pitchers like to throw to. His times to 2B hovered around 2.0 with accuracy, and should improve as he gets a bit quicker with his feet and cleaner with his arm stroke. Santiago also deadens balls in the dirt well and seems to understand pitch sequences well. At the plate he showed some pop with a double in the game while also showing a mature overall approach with good strike zone judgement. He has the ability to drive the ball when his swing is connected and appears relaxed and confident in the box. There is an overall maturity to Santiago's game and he should be a prospect to watch closely.
