09/15/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Sawyer is an atheltic C prospect who showed well at the Futures East showcase. Behind the plate, Sawyer tracks the ball well and makes accurate throws with good carry through 2B. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load well and hits from a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Sawyer is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
