05/30/2022 - All-In Membership - Brentwood, CA Sawyer is a class of 2026 RHP/SS. At the plate, he shows a simple approach with quiet and repeatable mechanics. Does a good job of keeping his hands inside the baseball. Flashes the ability to hit to all parts of the ballpark. Has a line drive approach and finds barrels consistently. In the field, he showed good pre-pitch actions to help get his feet moving. Shows some athletic ability and feel for the game with his ability to throw from all arm slots. Does a good job of making the routine play and making consistent throws across the diamond. On the mound, he pitches with good tempo and a fast pace delivery. Does a good job of commanding the zone with his fastball. His best pitch was his curveball that had 11-5 breaking action. Sawyer is a good player that we hope we get the chance to see again as he continues to develop.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
