06/20/2009 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 2 Scott showed as a two-way player on the mound and at SS. Abilities on the mound have improved as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches to both sides of the plate. Fastball showed on a strong downhill plane creating tough angles on hitters. Breaking ball displays a 10/4 shape with tight spin. He leaves the pitch up at times. His body is well suited for the mound, showing projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed has improved as he cut 2 tenths off his 60 time, now a 7.79 runner. He will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active and aggressive as he comes gets and plays through the ball with his feet and hands, displaying slightly above average defensive abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities and power are slightly above average through an aggressive approach. He shows good balance and shows a level swing path. He has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with hitting grades improving quickly with instruction and adjustments. Scott projects best on the mound showing as a class 5 type player.
