01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Scott is a muscular, athletic C/RHP with a ton of athletic abilities that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects best behind the plate but has an upside on the mound. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.35 60 time. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in working in line through a quick transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times are superior, showing a range of 1.79-1.87 with accuracy, life, and on line carry through his target as he displays a pro level arm. He will control the running game with his feet and arm. Receiving / blocking skills are superior tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine displaying well above average hitting and power grades through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 82-86 mph with cutting / sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp breaking action. Command / control are well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Scott has the makings of a special type player at the next level and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.
