09/16/2015 - Under Armour Fall Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Scott is a hard working MIF who made several improvements to his game during his time at the Under Armour Fall Classic. He is a very coachable player who is always looking for ways to get better. Foot speed has improved as he now runs the 60 in 7.10. Defensively, Scott has quick/fluid actions working from right to left through the GB. He presents his glove, fields the ball out in front and has soft hands. He is versatile enough to play anywhere in the INF. Offensively, this RHH has a balanced/athletic setup with rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he barrels the ball up consistently. A threat once on base - Scott is aggressive and reads the downward angle well, seeing the ball in the dirt and getting solid jumps. A little bit of added strength which will come with a weight program along with physical maturity will help to take his game to the next level. Scott has the tools that will translate well into the next level.

07/28/2015 - College PREP - Raleigh, NC Scott showed as a SS at the event with improvements in his baseball abilities and a promising future on the diamond. Defensive grades are now outstanding, displaying smooth / athletic actions. Feet are quick as he moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he shows off his athletic abilities on the slow roller play. He is aggressive and shows big play potential. Arm strength has improved with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, hitting and power grades have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through and aggressive / level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side.

10/15/2014 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Scott displayed his consistency both offensively and defensively, at the AZ Junior Fall Classic with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he had an oppo approach and got himself into a strong/activated hitting position. He was coordinated with his hands and hips to deliver the barrel, generating good bat speed and barrel accuracy. He worked to stay more direct to the ball, allowing for greater pop and hard hit frequency. Defensively, he had a sure glove and made plays with some natural feel. He had good pre-pitch footwork and a clean exchange. Continued reps and backhand mechanics will increase his play ability. In all - Scott is a great kid that works hard and has a future in the game as he continues to strengthen.

07/29/2014 - College PREP - Raleigh, NC Scott is a smooth fielding 2B. Defensively, he works quickly/actively around the ground ball and into an athletic fielding position. He fields the ball out in front with a soft glove. He moves well laterally and can make the tough plays to his right and left. With the bat, this RHH shows an open stance with a solid base. Barrel delivery is on a level path as he swings to and through the zone with extension. More lower 1/2 drive will result in increased power. A skilled player - Scott will make an impact on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
