Exclusive College Recruiting Program Scott is a strong framed catcher from Canada with advanced receiving skills, accurate throwing arm, agility in blocking and feel for calling his own game. With consistent low 2.0 pop times and online carry his arm plays to control the running game. He has strong wrists with a feel for moving the baseball on borderline pitches to present for strikes. Durable frame to hold up as a full time C with the agility to move well and block behind the plate. Swing has present bat speed and shows power on the pull side of the field and gap power to the big part of the field. Has a disciplined approach with a feel for the strike zone to provide offensive impact. Combination of premium defensive position with offensive impact for Scott as a collegiate player.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Scott is a solid, athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt, tracks ball well and sticks pitches in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.08 with accuracy and carry (81 mph velocity) on his throws. Offensively, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he maintains balance. Hitting abilities will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Scott has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
