12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Scott is a SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Scott takes a good prep step and moves well laterally. He fields with soft hands and makes accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Scott build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half, producing solid contact. Scott went 3-6 during the event while adding two walks. Continuing to develop and add strength can help Scott generate more pop off the barrel. On the mound, Scott gathers over the rubber and is fluid separating his hands. He works with a quick arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Scott operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph. Breaking ball sits at 63mph with 10-4 break. Keeping his head still in his rock step can help Scott improve his pitch command. Overall, Scott is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Bowie, MD Scott is an athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.19 60 time) in covering ground in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his change but throws too hard resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Scott has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
