07/30/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Scott continues to show as a C/RHP at the event but currently projects best as a catcher where he has improved his athletic abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date with times showing a range of 2.15-2.19 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Receiving / blocking tools show as playable tools as he continues to develop. At the plate, he shows a balanced / athletic setup. Hands are loose, works through a level swing path, and make consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he learns to work inside the ball more and work to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power numbers will increase as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-74 mph with a 10/4 shape breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength, throw more strikes, and develop better off speed stuff. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be best player he can be.
