01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) John is a 2022 SS prospect who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. At SS, he showed good rhythm to his actions, with active feet, and ability to cover ground. Creates good fielding angles and ability to pick out hops. Showed good glove action as he fields from a square fielding position with a low funnel. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with on-line throws across the diamond and an arm velocity of 84mph. At the plate, this right-handed hitter begins with an athletic and even stance. Takes an aggressive swing, with quickness to hands, and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Gets on-plane early as he hit balls consistently to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 90mph. In live game action, he reached on a single and a base on balls. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee John making huge strides on the baseball field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) John is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2022. Tall frame, with high hips, athletic build and a projectable frame with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. At SS, starts with active feet and a good prep step as he creates good fielding angles. Works low to high with a square fielding position and a clean exchange. Aggressive routes to ground balls with ability to stay low on balls to his back hand. Short arm action into a high 3/4 release with accurate/on-line throws across diamond at 84mph. A right-handed hitter, he begins with an upright stance and even stance. Balanced setup who gets knob to C to start his swing. Gets on-plane early with some quickness to hand and ability to spray balls to all fields. Reached base 3 times, with a double and a triple, and had a bat exit velocity of 87mph in live games. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee John having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
